PRIVACY POLICY
Opal Cannabis™ is committed to protecting your privacy. Our privacy policy has been developed in compliance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”), which governs the ways Opal Cannabis™ can collect, use, and disclose personal information.
Opal Cannabis™ and its direct service providers collect Customer Personal Information and Employee Personal Information. We safeguard this information on private and secure servers monitored by full-time IT staff to prevent risks such as unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal of personal information.
Opal Cannabis™ guarantees to never sell or knowingly share personal information without your permission.
The purpose of collecting and creating a Buddi customer profile, when purchasing online or in-store tablet kiosk, is to track purchase history, enhancing the service experience at Opal Cannabis™. This allows customers to look back at what has worked for them in their past experience with purchased cannabis products. Customers are notified about the collection, use, and disclosure during the sign-up process. If a customer 19+ does not want to disclose any aspect of the information outlined in this policy, they can still purchase cannabis products and cannabis accessories at Opal Cannabis™ stores with acceptable government-issued identification. Opal Cannabis™ leadership utilizes general reports and demographic information from the customer database to make informed decisions, empowering us to better serve Opal Cannabis™ customers.
Collecting video surveillance is essential to comply with provincial laws and a condition of maintaining Opal Cannabis™’ cannabis retail license. If video surveillance or images are collected for security and corrective action purposes, this footage is strictly used for security and employee corrective action purposes and will not be used for any other purpose without consent or prior agreement. Collected video surveillance will be shared with local, provincial, federal law enforcement and/or governing bodies upon request(s) and consent is considered deemed by not declining.
Opal Cannabis™, and direct service providers, do not share any of your personal information with any third party or government sources outside of what is requested to fulfill our cannabis regulatory obligations and what is stated within or privacy policies.
For customers who would like to track their own purchase history, Opal Cannabis™ requires some personal information. Customers purchase history helps enhance the shopping experience by finding similar or complementary products. This is not a requirement to be able to shop at Opal Cannabis™, but it is the only means to track your shopping history and receive weekly newsletters. All personal information is kept on Canadian Servers and is never sold or shared. Furthermore, customers that opt-in for Newsletter agree to share their name and/or email to receive newsletters via email as well as other promotional material via email to help offer a better customer experience.
If you have any additional questions about our Privacy Policy or other legal policies and information that impact our operations, please feel free to send us an email.
Opal Cannabis™ guarantees to never sell or knowingly share personal information without your express permission.
